Jen Fawkes is a Melbourne based club photographer, who has always loved roaming the streets in search of simple stories that document and display the current face of our everyday world. She is a self-taught photographer with a love of black and white, with just a smattering of colour.

This love has included the street art that adorns our walls and spaces, inviting us to look at the legal, and illegal, art created by the hidden society of street artists. Over the past 5 years she had documented the changing face of Hosier Lane, with records of artwork that are no longer visible.

In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Jen commenced a portfolio titled ‘Empty Melbourne’, documenting the vast empty spaces that were once our busy city of Melbourne, during the 2020 pandemic.
